Imagine…..

This ran before and is absolutely worthwhile to see it again!

By a poem Sherry Greer

Imagine

Darkness

Low self-worth

Isolation

Why me?

Imagine, looking in the mirror and hating the reflection and how you feel

1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, 5 years, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50.

Yes, 50 years of why do I have to be this way?

What should I do?

Where should I go?

Should I even be here?

Do I even want to be here?

Fighting, fighting that internal conflict

I have to make a decision…

I want to be here

I have to be here…for me, my wife, my son, my family

Break through the cocoon of self-doubt, years and layers.

I see the light

I reach for it, I see it, here I come

I look into the mirror once again

I am beautiful!

I love myself

I love others

I love expressing who I am

Oh, the joy of being feminine, girly!

The makeup

The hair

The dresses

The shoes

The feeling of being free to be you

Finding others like you

Finding others who want to help and love who you are

Not having to look over your shoulder anymore out of fear if being seen

Imagine, truly loving yourself for the first time, loving yourself for the first time,

Loving yourself for the first time

But, where do I go from here?

I don’t know, I don’t know but I will be happy getting to that destination

I ask one question… Look into the mirror and imagine…

Stay beautiful – Sherry

  1. Sherry, this is so beautifully written! Finding your true self and imagining the possibilities of that discovery is an amazing experience. Your beauty and inner femininity shine in all your pictures. ❤

  2. Jocelyn/Tina,
Thank you so much for the kind words, they mean a lot. There’s so many layers to this self discovery and I know there’s more yet to peel away. Even though you cannot see my inner beauty I know it is more radiant then what you can see. Everyone should be able to be what they want to be!
    Stay beautiful-Sherry

  4. Beautiful words, Sherry. While I have not had the same struggles as you, I appreciate you sharing your feelings in such a poignant way. The smiles I see in your pictures are an expression of how far you have come. Congrats.

  6. Sherry,
I’m sure most of us have days of self doubt , I recently posted on this theme titled , ” A good talking to ” . Somedays how we think we look and how we actually do can be worlds apart . I followed up by posting a much brighter one titled , ” What a difference a day brings ” . Nothing had changed but I’d given myself a good talking to and realised ME for what I am .

We’re not so different to how women see themselves , they have good days and bad , is it all to do with hormones ???

When I do get days like that I have to consider which gender makes me happy , the answer is obvious , so I might apply a little more makeup and slip something nice on and head out for some retail therapy and a nice coffee .
